First, let me introduce myself. My name is Kyle Ashcraft and I own a dog training business called Technobedient. I have lived in Cincinnati my entire life and can't say I have anything negative to say about it. I would, however, like to someday live on the coastline of some large body of water! Ever since I can remember, I've always had a love for animals, especially dogs. Currently, my wife, Becky, and I have 2 all black Munchkin-mix female cats and one female, black English Bench Lab (the show variety of the Labrador Retriever). Her name is Miley. Miley is a special girl and most of this blog will have something to do with her. But first, let me tell you more about my wife and I. Presently, we both work in a print shop. My wife holds a management position over our in-house Graphic Design department, and I handle most of the IT responsibilities. In addition, I also do variable imaging which is essentially the backbone of our Direct Marketing division.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy working with dogs. It doesn't matter if I'm there to train the dogs, train the owners, play fetch, or just take a swim with the labby sisters. Miley has two sisters that she sees very often. These sisters are her littermates. Olive (Black) belongs to Becky's sister Amy and her Fiance Micah. Zoey (Chocolate) belongs to Becky's brother Clayton and his wife Katie. In addition to Zoey, Clayton and Katie also have a younger pup (same breed, different breeder) named Harley. She was born on Christmas Day, 2008. Between the four of them, there are hours and hours of stories to tell.
Becky's parents have an in-ground swimming pool. Now, I'm not sure what you know about the Labrador breed, but water is easily their favorite place to be. Seriously, it's on the verge of obsessive. Miley has literally jumped out of the window of my truck while it was moving down the driveway to get in the pool. Obsessive.
During the summer, the "kids" (Becky, Amy, & Clayton) bring the significant others to their parents house (Marianne and Tom) on Sundays for a home cooked dinner, a cocktail or 2 (or more...) and to lounge around the pool listening to their superb outdoor sound system. It's not uncommon to soak up some rays and get a cooling mist lab-scented residual water drippage.
It puts a smile on your face when you see your dogs in their favorite place. You can almost feel them saying, "Thanks Dad!"
